TROTR Needs Your Help! Unfortunately, in difficult economic times, animals are often the first to suffer. Equines (horses, ponies, minis, donkeys, and mules) especially are at risk because of their specific feeding and healthcare needs. Likewise, they are expensive animals to maintain and many are being abandoned or even given away, often to unscrupulous people posing as buyers but looking for cheap or free horses to take to slaughter houses in Mexico, where they make a lot of money by selling horses to be killed through inhumane methods. TROTR needs YOUR help now. We remain committed to helping our equine friends and working with other rescues, BUT WE CANNOT DO IT WITHOUT YOUR SUPPORT! We are asking our friends and supporters to help us raise much-needed funds for the following: - Hay and feed - Veterinary care - Preventative healthcare, such as worming meds, vaccinations and antibiotics - Stable management practices, such as Insect and fly control - Water, electricity and gasoline TROTR is growing and we are excited to announce that TROTR is establishing an ongoing fundraising program that includes events, grant writing and direct requests, such as the following: Foster Family Sponsors: Please consider becoming a sponsor for one of TROTR's horses. $50 per month can feed a horse for 1/2 a month, or worm 10 horses. Plus, as a sponsor, you will have access to the horse or horses that you are sponsoring to visit, groom and learn about handling horses from the ground up if you are not already familiar with equine techniques. Adoption Services: If you are looking for a family pleasure horse, please contact us. Our adoption fees are reasonable ($500) and we work with you to help find the perfect match for you and your family. Adopting a horse is a huge commitment, so it is important to spend time with us at the rescue to learn about the available horses and how to care for them, especially if this is your first horse. Please help us continue this important work with horses, ponies, minis and other equines.
