RIDING INSTRUCTORS
LAUREN MAAS ~ RIDING INSTRUCTOR
Lauren began riding when she was 10 yrs old, after begging her non-horsey parents to let her ride in a lesson for her 10th birthday. She began riding western, but soon switched to hunter/jumper lessons and fell in love with the sport.
In early 2008, Lauren bought her first horse, Dante, a 13 year old American Warmblood gelding. When Lauren was 15, she discovered her love for teaching while volunteering at Ride to Walk, assisting in teaching therapeutic riding lessons.
Lauren's long-term goal is to become a large animal veterinarian, however she is also passionate about teaching the future generation of horsemen and women. She attended UC Davis, beginning in the fall of 2014 and bringing her horse Dante with her. While going to school, Lauren worked as a riding instructor at the UC Davis Equestrian Center. She graduated from UC Davis in 2018 with a B.S. in Animal Science.
Lauren currently owns a 15 year-old thoroughbred gelding named Gallon and a 2 year-old thoroughbred gelding named Rain. In her spare time she volunteers for CANTER California to help rehabilitate and retrain horses that come off the racetrack.
